Positions, long and short, stop-loss and take-profit
What a trading position is, what going long or short means, and how stop-loss and take-profit orders help you plan exits before you enter.
Once an order fills, you have a position: the amount of an asset you currently hold in a trade. Managing that position well matters more than finding the perfect entry.
Going long means buying an asset because you expect its price to rise. You profit if you later sell higher, and lose if you sell lower. Buying a coin on a normal spot exchange is a long position.
