Ready for real crypto?

Where to buy crypto in the EU — safely

DUKOIN is a school and a practice app: we never hold money and you cannot buy real crypto here. When you are ready, use an exchange that is licensed under MiCA, the EU's crypto law. A MiCA licence from one EU country is valid across the EU, including Lithuania.

Practice first. Most beginners lose money in their first months. Try your plan with virtual money in the demo wallet and finish the Academy basics before you put in real money. Only invest what you can afford to lose completely.

Binance: Binance stopped serving users in the EU from 1 July 2026. If you still hold coins there, move them to a MiCA-licensed exchange or a wallet you control.

How we choose: an exchange appears here only if it holds a MiCA licence that covers EU customers. Being listed is not a recommendation to buy any coin. Some links are partner links; that never changes the order or what we write.

Checklist

How to buy crypto safely — 8 steps

  1. Check the licence. Find the exact company name in the ESMA MiCA register. Look-alike websites are common.
  2. Type the address yourself or use a bookmark. Do not click exchange links from ads, DMs or emails.
  3. Turn on 2-factor login with an authenticator app or passkey (not SMS if you can avoid it).
  4. Start small. Make one small deposit and one small purchase first to learn the steps and the fees.
  5. Pay in EUR by bank transfer from an account in your own name. Card payments are usually more expensive.
  6. Know your exit. Before buying, decide when you would sell (your stop) and how much you accept to lose.
  7. Withdrawing to your own wallet? Send a tiny test amount first and double-check the network and address.
  8. Keep records of every buy and sell for taxes. Lithuania and other EU countries tax crypto gains.
Scam warnings

Walk away if you see any of these

  • "Guaranteed" profits or a fixed daily return. Nobody can promise that in crypto.
  • Someone offers to trade for you or asks you to install remote-access apps (AnyDesk, TeamViewer).
  • "Recovery" services that promise to get lost crypto back for a fee. This is a second scam.
  • Giveaways — "send 1 coin, get 2 back" — often with fake celebrity videos.
  • Pressure: "only today", "last chance", a new online friend who pushes an investment.
  • Anyone asking for your seed phrase or password. No real company ever needs it.
  • Unknown coins pumping 100%+ in a day with lots of social media hype — classic pump-and-dump.

Lost money to a scam? Report it to the police and to your bank immediately. In Lithuania you can also contact the Bank of Lithuania.
