Research is only as good as its inputs. Here is every data source DUKOIN uses today, what we use it for, how fresh it is, and what we have not connected yet.
Market data: CoinGecko
What we use: prices, market capitalization, 24-hour volume, circulating, total and max supply, percentage changes and daily price history.
What it powers: Live Markets, asset pages, the Research Score, the Opportunity Radar, the Dip Detector, forecasts, portfolio valuation and Risk Studio.
How it is delivered: data is requested from the CoinGecko API and cached on DUKOIN’s servers, so every visitor sees a consistent snapshot and we stay within the provider’s rate limits. Refresh frequency depends on the data provider tier and is the same for every member.
Important: the free CoinGecko tier is not real-time tick data. Prices are aggregated across venues and can differ from the price on any single exchange.
Attribution: Data by CoinGecko.
Freshness states
Every market value on DUKOIN is labeled with its age:
| State | Data age | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| LIVE | 2 minutes or less | As current as our feed gets. |
| RECENT | 15 minutes or less | Fine for research; check before time-sensitive decisions. |
| DELAYED | 60 minutes or less | Markets may have moved meaningfully. |
| STALE | Older than 60 minutes | Do not rely on it. Scores are not computed from stale data. |
| UNAVAILABLE | No usable value | Shown as missing, never estimated. |
News: publisher RSS feeds
What we use: the headline, link and publication timestamp from publishers’ public RSS feeds. We do not store or republish article text; selecting a headline takes you to the publisher.
What it powers: news lists on asset pages and the “possible cause” check in the Dip Detector. When no headline matches a decline, we show “cause unknown”. Headline text is treated as untrusted input by our AI systems.
Editorial content
DUKOIN publishes its own editorial posts and guides, written and reviewed by our team. They are clearly labeled as DUKOIN content.
Event calendar: editorial
Calendar events, such as network upgrades or scheduled token unlocks, are added and verified manually by our editors. Every event links to its source. We do not yet use an automated token-unlock data provider, so the calendar is selective rather than exhaustive.
Forecast backtest data
The research backtest described in forecast methodology uses Coinbase daily price history for 10 large assets. It is used only for that labeled backtest.
Your own data
Watchlists, alerts, portfolio transactions and CSV imports you enter are stored in your account and used to provide your features. The AI assistant can read your own watchlists and portfolios when you ask it to, and never anyone else’s. See the Privacy policy.
Not connected yet
Network activity, holder distribution, exchange flows, funding rates and open interest are not connected. They are coming when a licensed provider is connected. Until then, the corresponding Research Score components are shown as missing and excluded from the calculation.
Licensing
We use third-party data under the terms of each provider. Data remains subject to its provider’s terms, and redistribution of raw data from DUKOIN is not permitted. If you are a data provider and have a question about attribution, please contact us.
Third-party data can be delayed, incomplete or incorrect at the source. Always check the freshness label and verify important figures before relying on them.
